How To Be Successful In A College Classroom - This is a workshop designed for the high school senior planning on going to college. The purpose is to provide the student with very useful tips on how to be successful in a college classroom. These tips can also help improve performance in the senior year of high school. University of Alabama Early College - High school students in Alabama with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA may apply to UA Early College from the spring of their sophomore year through the fall of their senior year. During a given year, eligible students have year-round opportunities to submit an application. Early College courses are taught in a vibrant online environment and meet the general education "core requirements" in Humanities, Language, Social and Behavioral Sciences and Fine Arts. For more information you can visit their website . DCH Radiography Program - The DCH Regional Medical Center Radiography Program educates and prepares students to become competent radiographers. The Radiography program looks for students who are confident in Math and Science. An applicant is required to have and ACT score of 18 or higher and must have completed 15 hours of college courses. Alliance for a Healthier Generation - The Alliance for a Healthier Generation is searching for a select group of young people to serve on the Youth Advisory Board for 2010-2011 and roll up their sleeves for a few hours a month of critical thinking, engaging conversations, good fun, new friendships, and high-profile leadership. Applicants must be between the ages of 8 and 17 years old when membership begins July 2010. Interested youth can visit empowerme2b.org for more information. Cambridge College Programme - This is a unique educational opportunity for high achieving high school scholars. Scholars may be in their freshman through senior year. Scholarship Information Tuscaloosa County Medical Society - The Tuscaloosa County Medical Society scholarship is to acknowledge a Senior Student in the Tuscaloosa County area who has demonstrated excellence through leadership, community involvement, work experience, academic achievement, and interest in pursuing a Health related profession. If you are interested please fill out the application by February 1, 2011. Shelton State Community College - Forms are available for FAFSA Pell grants and scholarships on the College's website. Scholarship forms are available in December/January with deadlines usually falling in early March. Please note all deadlines. Students are responsible for submitting complete scholarship applications by the deadline listed for the individual scholarship.
