Community Service

Service is an important aspect of our lives at Holy Spirit Catholic Middle and High School.  Many of our organizations have a service component for membership.  The Key Club members volunteer at Kentuck, work at RISE, raise money for St. Jude's Hospital, and serve the community in various other ways.  Members of God Squad and Student Council coordinate various service activities at school, such as the Thanksgiving food drive and Christmas collections, and members of our Honor Societies share their academic talents by tutoring students in various subjects.  The middle school student council plans activities to raise money to support Eduardo, a student adopted through CFCA, and middle school students participate in Thanksgiving and Christmas service projects.  Each month, all students bring in non-perishable food and monetary donations to support Catholic Social Services, and one day of the academic year is designated Service Day -- a day on which high school students go out into the community to assist at various sites such as RISE, Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind, etc., and middle school students work on projects at the school.
